getting your first major credit card is usually one of the first things that lets you fully realize that you are an adult. Of course rarely is it seen as the huge responsibility that it really is. You can get a credit card these days as easily as you can buy a bag of chips at your local convenience store. All you have to do is go online to any credit card company and provide your information to get approved. If you have bad credit or have suffered through a bankruptcy you can still get a credit card. It seems that all of the credit card companies are in league with each other to keep you in debt with them for the rest of your life.

Most credit card companies do not go so far as to just send you a credit card through the mail that you haven't even applied for but some of them still do which makes it extremely for young people to go into debt before they are even old enough to legally apply for credit. many parents will take these cards and use them instead which could ruin your child's credit before they are even old enough to have it. Some people who have bad credit apply for secured credit cards which are cards that have a limit that is the same as the size of your deposit into your credit card account. Once you have made your steady payments for a certain period of time your credit limit is raised and some companies will even send you your money back or apply it to your new card.
